Rumors abound on new Xbox and Playstation models - Part 1

Rumors are flying all over the Internet about a new Xbox and Playstation design which will follow the 360 and PS3 models which are currently going head to head in the marketplace. And considering Moore’s Law that states electronics will get exponentially more powerful every 18 months, the timing is about right. But is it true, or simply fanboy speculation?

Spike makes lots of fun sounds, too. He growls, snorts, and roars, and he even plays dino-music. Cost is about $130, which is a tad pricey if the kid doesn’t get dino-obsessed.

This segment of our Toys R Us hot holiday toy list looks at toys for kids aged 2-4 years. They are filled with classics, go hitech, and look to give kids a lot of fun on Christmas morning. Let’s take a look:

And Toys R Us is betting that the “Barbie & The Diamond Castle Princess Liana and Princess Alexa Dolls” from Mattel will be the hot ticket. The Princess Alexa Doll sings two songs from the Barbie & The Diamond Castle movie and wears a glittery gown which magically transforms with the pull of her pretty purple ribbon. Cost is about $25. TOYS R US HOLIDAY BEST BETS, PART II

Continuing on with our series on Toys R Us Best Bets for hot toys this holiday season, we continue up to year two to see what toddler’s will be playing with come Christmas morning. And first up is this fun 50’s Diner from Step 2. - No doubt this playset will remind parents more of Arnold’s from the TV show “Happy Days” than the actual 50’s, but it still looks way too much fun. The 50s Diner from Step 2 is part kitchen, part greasy spoon booth - complete with bench seating, table, and even a Rockola style juke box that plays three 50s style tunes.

My Mini Golf

Families love miniature golf. Bouncing scratched up colorful rubber balls off cement walls, up ramps, down pipeholes and through scary castles for a hole in 20. What’s not to like? It makes for a great night out. Wouldn’t it be great if families could take a miniature golf course with them wherever they go? Now they can.

Thrustmaster cuts the WiiCord

The Wii is a great, physical video game platform but it needs a little tweaking wirelessly. Sure, the Wiimote itself is wireless, but it’s suffered from wires which bindingly connects the Nunchuck controller to it. Thrustmaster, the company which made an art form out of the science of military gaming joysticks, has managed to cut that cord and make the pair of controllers completely wireless.

Now that Fall is here, our kids are in school, the leaves are falling, and it also means that Halloween is right around the corner. So, what are going to be the hot Halloween costumes that kids will be begging their parents to buy them this year? Well, like last year, it seems that PIRATE costumes are just as hot and show no signs of cooling down. Argh!
