The Force Unleased

LucasArts has announced that the long awaited mega game STAR WARS: THE FORCE UNLEASHED will ship in September and hit the stores on September 16th. This long awaited game promises such ground breaking effects as light saber feedback in the Wii environment. Taking place between the Episode 3 and 4 of the film time line, the concept of the game is Darth Vader’s secret apprentice has been tasked to continue the Jedi purge by hunting them down all across the galaxy. What’s really cool is that in true Lucasian fashion, new details of the Star Wars universe will be revealed to game players as they make their way through the game.

The Force Unleashed is actually the first game developed completely in-house at LucasArts, however, there are also other video companies contributing their expertise to the project. The game will be featured on Xbox and Playstation 3 initially, with game company Krome Studios working on the Wii™ home videogame system from Nintendo, PlayStation®2 and PSP® versions to come out later in the year. n-Space, Inc., is developing a version for Nintendo DS™. All will feature the same storyline, with opportunities to unleash the Force in devastating new ways.

More information about the game can be found at the official website, which will continue to release details throughout the year.
