I was too old to experience the Big wheel, but just right to make my own soap box derby racer. The joy of taking wood and making a vehicle you could race down-hill was every kid’s race car fantasy. Trouble was, it was more dangerous and often times you either crashed or wore out those sneakers your mom bought you for school. But it was a small price to pay for building your own ride. Moov comes from a Dutch toy company named BERG and will be out in Europe this summer. The kit comes with wood and plastic pieces and is easy for kids to construct any of 4 (or more with enough imagination) different kinds of vehicles from two wheeled scooters, to three wheeled trikes, to a 4-wheeler that would make any soap box derby racer proud to compete in. And with kids saddling themselves to the couch and playing Rock Band, MOOV is just the solution to not only getting kids out of the house, but getting them to be creative in making their own transportation in a very Lego-like fashion.
