PILOT VIEW gives r/c controllers first person POV
One of the most challenging things about learning to fly a radio controlled airplane is not only that the axis changes depending on where the plane is in the sky, but also that you have to steer an airplane by watching it from the ground. It’s a very detached experience that only those who survive the learning curve of crash after crash after crash (and the cost of repairing or replacing the planes) end up mastering. In fact, one has to wonder how many people simply quit the hobby because they can’t afford the damage or the time to learn what is obviously a skillset. If there was only a way to fly a radio controlled airplane from a first person perspective … now there is. But it ain’t cheap.
PILOT VIEW FPV2400 uses a wireless digital camera and sunglass size TV glasses to give the R/C operator a first person perspective from the cockpit. The kit comes with wireless video camera, TV goggles and glare shield, receiver and wireless antenna, cables, remote, and USB Charger. There’s also all required mounting brackets to place the camera its proper position on the plane. But r/c planes are only the beginning, as PilotViewFPV may be used in radio controlled cars and boats, helium balloons and even kites. And those with a love of extreme sports can use the camera mount as well to share the experience of anything from skydiving, snowboarding and even mountain biking in REAL time!
Cost is $549 from Hobby Lobby
