Speed Racer Slot Car Set is old school fun
A slot car racing set wasn’t a given, but those of us who remember watching the original Speed Racer Saturday morning TV show hoped it would. Hidden amoungst the plethora of merchandising toys from Hot Wheels to lunch kits, all we old folks really hoped for is a toy about a race car driver that actually raced. And slot cars are so old school retro cool that the Carerra Speed Racer Slot Car Set fits right in with the spirit and speed that is the Mach 5 and bringing it into the 21st century with whiz bang LED lights to boot.
The set comes complete with the Mach 5 and Racer X’s #9 car, along about 20 feet or so of track for creating hairpin turns, a 360 degree loop, and even section where both cars get big air in a flyover. And when the cars hit the straight aways, they scream down the track. And the Mach 5 and Racer X cars are decked out in small LED lights which make the whole racer come alive.
Perfect for kids just hitting the high side of elementary school, but make no mistake, adults will love it for the memories it brings as well.
