5 (or 6) most wanted Star Wars collectibles …
Toys are for playing, but these ten toys are so highly sought by collectors that even considering taking them out of their original packaging is considered a crime against humanity:
1.
- Darth Vader with double telescoping light saber
- It looks like a normal dark lord of the Sith, except that Vader’s light saber actually retracts in a typical telescoping fashion. The idea probably looked great on paper, but the manufacturing and cost issues probably destined this to a very short life on the production line. There’s only three known to exist along with an equal amount of Obi Wan Kinobi’s and about 15 Luke Skywalkers. Value of Vader’s double telescoping saber version? Nearly $10,000 US. Luke’s is about half that.
2.
- Vlix
Only released in Brazil, this obscure Star Wars character action figure is based on the short lived cartoon series Droids. Only a handful exist unopened and they’re worth about $6,000 each. FOR AN ACTION FIGURE!
3.
- Millenium Falcon 23” version by Kenner
. Designed as a set companion to the 3 ¾” action figures, this Correllian Smuggler ship came with swiveling laser canon, retractable landing gear and a smuggler’s compartments. It even has the infamous Sabacc gaming table built in. If you have one in mint condition, you can expect to fetch about $4,000 for it.
4.
- X-Wing Fighter, Lego
. The original was released in 1999. This 500 piece set came with a Degobah set for Luke’s Jedi training with Master Yoda, who’s home is also included along with figures of him, Luke and R2D2. Expect to fetch about $250 US for it as it isn’t available here in the States.
5.
- Interactive R2D2 Droid by Hasbro
. Unfortunately, it isn’t life size, but this voice controlled Astromech droid has plenty of attitude. It can dance, play hide and seek, emit a security alarm and obey up to 40 voice activated commands. Still available for about $200 US.
