Bible Action Figures make the mainstream
Thanks to the success of such faith based toy lines as Veggie Tales and the Chronicles of Narnia, more parents are looking to give their kids a more spiritual line of toys with which to occupy their imaginations. And what better creator (other than the actual Creator) to design and market such toys than the inventor of the G.I. Joe?
Donald Levine hopes that his Almighty Hero’s line will do for Christian Retail Toys what G.I. Joe did for Hasbro – put an action figure in the holy hands of every kid in every sandbox. Kids learning about such biblical action figures as King David, Queen Esther, Samson and Jonah can teach kids more faith based lessons and connect them to their family’s faith. They’re also hot sellers at Christian bookstores and other specialty stores.
And now, they’re going mainstream as Levine reports his line of toys are coming to heavy hitters like Target, Walgreens and the eight hundred pound Gorilla that is WalMart. According to UPI, Levine, who is Jewish and created G.I. Joe to honor his fellow Korean War vets, sought to create these Almighty Heroes because of its solid niche market - there are an estimated 2 billion Christians in the world. Add to that the number of kids from his faith and you have a pretty substantial customer base to market to.
Cost is around $20-25 each.
