Kids put pool toys to the test …
In Arizona, where summer has just about anyone and anything looking for a swimming pool to beat the 120+ degree heat, kids are putting new pool toys to the test and giving Mesa toy maker Toy Splash their thoughts. And the feedback is pretty good as these latest toys are giving kids plenty to splash around about.
The big favorite is the Underwater pogo stick made by Pool Systems. For about $50, the “Pool Sub Jumpa” was named the best new pool product of 2008 at the International Pool & Spa Expo. We reported on it here about how cool it is and how it’s ball shaped bottom allows kids to bounce off the walls and bottom.
For about $10, kids can use “Water Talkies” to talk to each other under water from as far as fifteen feet away. But seriously, is this more due to the talkies or the fact that sound travels underwater? Still, for $10 it could keep a couple of kids playing while mom and dad relax poolside.
The Floating Pool Pong Table Game, $79.99, is a great idea for some good pool fun in the shallow end as players can place the floating table in the water and begin a great game of pong. Pretty self explanatory but at least the balls will stay nearby after they get past you and hit the water. And kids can enjoy a floating game of tether ball as well.
There were plenty of successful water toys that the kids liked, including water canons and squirt guns, but one toy that seemed to go over like a led balloon was the underwater skateboard which seems to shoot away from the kids before they even have a chance to hang ten.
