Ally & AJ Video Axes turn girls into wannabe rock goddesses

Aly/AJ Guitar Hero

Believe it or not, according to the latest surveys, more girls play video games than boys. And one of their more favorite video games to play are both Guitar Hero and Rock Band. So it’s high time our fairer sex had their axes with which to run a digital riff while jamming classic tunes to the popular video games. And that’s where Disney recording artists Ally & AJ come in.

Though they’re aftermarket interfaces designed by game console accessory company PDP, these two new guitar controllers are compatible with both Rock Band and Guitar Hero for both Nintendo Wii and PS2 consoles, and will be available just in time for Christmas (okay, mid-October) for about $70 each. There will be two guitar controller sizes to accommodate both tweens ages 8 to 12 and for teens and older. And, not content to just slap their name on an existing interface, the guitar designs are the brainchild of Aly and feature a heart and cross bone print in pink and brown. AJ’s guitar comes in the heart shape of the Aly & AJ logo in shocking pink and purple zebra print.

With all this girl power hovering around the video console, the question I have is … where’s the Hannah Montana Jewel Mic Stand?
