Kids love treehouses. But sometimes a kid can’t have one because of small back yards, an overly worried helicopter parent, or a dad who simply doesn’t have the construction gene in his DNA. Well, there’s not much that can be done about the last one, except whipping out the checkbook and hiring a contractor, but even the most hovering parent would be impressed by this indoor treehouse bedroom designed and built by the gang at KidTropolis.
The treehouse isn’t really a tree house per se, but it provides the fantasy of one, giving a kid his very own “sanctum sanctorum” inside his … well, sanctum sanctorum (bedroom). The treehouse is actually built out of the wall with support columns mirroring the studs and supported by a built tree base that has been decorated with tree bark. A small , four step rope covered ladder leads to the treehouse bed area which also has doorway with hand holds for safety and a roll open window. Inside – there’s plenty of room for a child’s bedding area, night stand, and of course toys.
The rest of the room has a raised playstage area with some really cool drawers and hidden compartments with which to stow a kids toys and stuff that usually ends up strewn all over the floor. And, of course, a nice themed paint job which – in this case – is quite confusing as it’s a farm. Treehouse farm? No, man! Swiss Family Robinson!
Anyway, if I had this bedroom as a kid, I’d probably never went on overnights to other kids’ houses!
