Toys that Geoffrey is betting the farm on
Over the next few days, we’ll be highlighting the toys that TOYS R US thinks will be hot sellers this holiday season. We’ll break them down by age and give you the specs on the toys that Geoffrey thinks will make for a Holy Jolly Christmas. And all counting down to what Toys R Us calls the FABULOUS 15.
Today, we’re taking a look at hot toys for toddlers, our baby-24 months category (Year 1):
According to our friends at Play Things, here’s what parents will be looking for to help their new borns hit the ground crawling this Holiday Season:
Candy Rock ‘N Bounce Pony from Radio Flyer – Made by what is perhaps the greatest little red wagon company on earth (Radio Flyer), this bouncing pony comes with removable safety saddle for your child and easy grip handles. It bounces using super strong and springy rubber straps that almost look like they were taken off your home gym. Cost is around $110.
Crayola Beginnings Baby TaDoodles Rainbow Tower – like the infamous colored rings stacker, the light up Crayola Beginnings Rainbow Tower teaches kids about color with special effects! The stacking and nesting capability also help a baby to practice perception and hand-eye co-ordination. Cost is $14.95

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Fun with Friends Musical Table – with four activity stations that light up with cool colors and sounds, this musical table teaches your little tyke about letters, numbers, counting, first words, colors, shapes, opposites, animals … and what’s really cool is that it’s bilingual as it also does this in both English and Spanish! And it’s all done with music, which researchers have proven time and again helps with learning. Cost is around $40.
Also from Fisher-Price is the Laugh & Learn Shop & Learn Walker – towards the end of their first year, babies are looking to get on their feet and this Laugh and Learn Shop and Learn Walker is just what the doctor ordered to get them taking steps, while learning such skills as language, sorting, or pretending to bring home the bacon from the mega-mart with mom. Teaches about ABCs, numbers, shapes, colors, foods, opposites, and textures. Cost is about $40.
