Hand crank train almost as expensive as real McCoy

Okay, not really. Not even close. But seriously. A hand cranked toy ride along locomotive set for over $4,000?! That’s some serious spoiling of the toddler. But I gotta admit, it sure looks cool.

Looking like the classic locomotives from the 40s and 50s, the hand crank locomotive runs along a thirty foot diameter 12-gauge circular track. It can be set up in about an hour and has special no-slip cross bars to keep it in place as the kids run “clickety clack” over the rails. The two included locomotives are made from cast aluminum with stainless steel crank handles, and can support a single child up to 100 pounds. Cast iron wheels effortlessly glide over the track, which is made from made of welded steel. Fasteners, wrenches and nylon covers to protect the trains included.

Great for kids ages 3-13. Shipping weight about 100 pounds – so expect the costs to go up a few Benjamins to pay for it.

Santa Fe

If laying down “5 large” is way over your budget in these troubled times, check out the Ride On Santa Fe Train from HS. It has a 23 foot track, operates on a 6V battery, and is made of high-impact plastic. $230.
