Classic Toy etches out a high tech upgrade

The problem with today’s electronic, computer chip driven toy world, is that kids aren’t using their imaginations as much as they used to, instead choosing to rely on game developers to play make believe. That’s unfortunate, not only because kids don’t get much exercise, but because they aren’t exercising that one thing which will give those games a future … their own imagination.
But some developers seem to be out to change that and the first stop on the long road back is the Deluxe TV Etch a Sketch.

What sets this game apart is that everyone can enjoy a child’s creation on a big screen TV as he tools away on his creation with a two knob controller. Kids also can learn how to draw on the Etch a Sketch by playing special games like “Trace a Pic” and “Connect the Dots.” This also has the added benefit of teaching hand eye coordination (something that’ll come in handy on the Plays … er … baseball field later).

Shaking the controller makes the scene erase away and other drawing tools help kids really make great pictures for all to enjoy. And the price is really cheap as it’s currently on sale, and in stock, for about $7 plus shipping. For ages 3 and up.
