Handy Mandy

Disney Stores USA, has issued a nationwide recall for approximately 20,000 units of its Playhouse Disney “Handy Manny” Toy Tool Sets citing the potential for choking hazard for little kids.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, each tool has a face on it with bulging eyes that can separate and can be easily swallowed, thereby getting stuck in little one’s airways. And although there have been no serious injuries as a result, there have been at least two reports of children who started to choke on the pieces and as such, the recall was issued.

The Handy Mandy toy was manufactured in China (no surprise there) and comes with an eight-piece toy tool set of tool box, saw, pliers, hammer, wrench, tape measure and a pair of screwdrivers. The model number will have a UPC of either #405144100614 or #422147400633 which is located on the product packaging. If no packaging is available, consumers who purchased the product are encouraged to contact The Disney Store at (866) 902-2798 or visit its website.
