Getting nails done Barbie style

Barbie nails

Girls love to paint their nails almost as much as they love to play Barbie. Now you can do both with the Barbie-B-Nails printer. Simply apply a thin, transparent “beauty ink,” and then place their nails inside the nail receptacle of the printer. The printer will take a picture of the nail and then girls can choose from a wide variety or premade or custom nail designs (there are over a thousand to choose from). The designs change change size and shape to alter slightly, or girls can even add pictures of their favorite people and create a custom nail design. Then, press the “print” button and the Barbie B Nails printer prints the design right on the nail. All that’s left is to “lock the design in” with a top coat.

Check out the printer in action (after the jump):

Okay, I’m not a girl, but that’s rather cool and not surprising considering our digital age. But here’s my question. As a parent, do you really want your child sticking her digits inside moving machinery? Then again, the receptacle looks to be pretty much isolated from the actual inner workings, save the printing/scanning area. So perhaps the Barbie B Nails printer isn’t a lawsuit waiting to happen.
