With all the talk about whether President Obama gets to keep his Blackberry, one has to wonder … what about this kids? How are they going to “hit back” the first father? What do they get to stay connected? LeapFrog comes to the rescue with a Text and Learn kid’s pda device dubbed the “Baby Blackberry” (we’ll see how long that title lasts).

Mind you, this is just a nickname as the toy company hasn’t really named it yet, but as part of the “Tag Junior System” the Baby Blackberry has a full keyboard and mini trackball (in the shape of a paw print). It’s a tad larger than it’s real life namesake, and it doesn’t have any wifi internet connectivity. But what it does do is teach kids about dates, phonics, and includes a few fun Leap Frog games.

Now granted, this won’t connect kids to the outside world, nor will it trade stocks or check twitter feeds, but it’s a great way to get kids interested at an early age into technology and communication, and give them their own Blackberry so they leave yours alone.

Now all kids need is a Baby iPhone.
