Saitek Pro Flight System is like the real thing

Although rumors abound that Microsoft may be eliminating the team that’s responsible for developing the long running Microsoft Flight Simulator, first personal flying simulation games have never been more popular. Even Google has gotten into the act by incorporating a flight sim into its popular Google Earth application (along with a trip to Mars). Saitek has been developing accessories for flight simulators since almost the very beginning and their latest collection, called the Saitek Pro Flight System, has enough gadgetry to nearly make the game player forget he’s not flying the real thing.

Designed with stainless steel shafts, ergonomic controls, integrated chronograph and a separate throttle quadrant, the user is albeit guaranteed an experience which closely echoes the cockpit management style of a real aircraft. The Pro Flight system attaches a desk (or even this cool diddy) thanks to a two position claim which keeps both the yoke and throttle securely fixed while operating. The throttle, meanwhile, has separate, programmable switches to operate the throttle, deploy the flaps, and even adjust propeller pitch should one be flying old school. And what’s really cool is that the system can operate as both pilot and co-pilot, so that two players can simulate a actual flight crew setup should the software support it. And the built in chronometer will allow users to time each route of flight from waypoint to waypoint.

Cost is about $130 and supports most flight simulation software.
