In a world where child obesity is the a serious worry for parents, doesn’t it make sense to make Segway for kids? Darway seems to think so. And for a paltry $220, they may be onto something. Even if it is dangerous.

Running an electric motor off a rechargeable 12v battery, the Dareway can travel forwards, backwards and move left and right thanks to the foot accelerator and thumb buttons that look like a built in PS2 controller. It has no balance control like the Segway, but kids won’t care about that. They’ll be too busy doing 360s until the battery dies.
What cracks me up is that the Dareway commercial calls it the “only authentic Dareway.”
Authentic, as in … “we bought a Segway and reverse engineered it down, taking out all the balance controls so we could charge under $250 for it” Darway. And I’m not too thrilled with the tagline “some kids walk, others Dareway.” But I can see this being a ton of fun for doing Dareway Polo on a basketball court during the summer. Just make sure you get your kids a bicycle as well so they can get some REAL exercise.
