In the last 30 years, there have been millions of Rubik’s Cubes. They are sturdy, well put together, and can take years to solve if you don’t cheat and use a system. But let’s face it, after three decades of lining up pretty basic colors of red, blue, green, white, orange and yellow. It can get a little boring doing the “j” turn over and over again to get sides lined up just right. I mean, I know there’s more to it than that, but how can we up the ante a bit? Enter the Maze Color IQ Cube.
This Rubik’ style cube adds a another element to in it that you have to line up the black bars going through each color square to follow the maze to the end. Then, multiply that by 6 and you can see how much more of a challenge the Maze Color IQ Cube to solve.

But that isn’t all. There’s also the Ultimate 4-Color Pyramid IQ Cube, which instead of a maze of bars, has the colors broken up to create a pyramid shape printed on the colored squares. In order to solve the puzzle, you need to build the pyramid with four separate colors.
So, if you’re one of those wunderkinds that can solve Rubik’s in under 10 seconds (and you know who you are, Erik Akkersdijk), perhaps taking it to the next level and lining up everything will give your Rubik’s habit a fresh set of eyes.
Cost is about $20 each from Brando Toys.
