Monopoly is probably the most popular board game in history. Don’t believe me? Go into your game closet. I bet you have one. And I bet you haven’t played it in quite awhile? Why? Well face it, classic Monopoly is long in the tooth. So much so that even with it’s historic popularity, Milton Bradley saw the handwriting on the wall and knew that unless Monopoly would evolve, it would become that dusty board game on the top shelf of the closet. So along came Star Wars Monopoly, Toy Story Monopoly, Transformers Monopoly, and just about every other movie franchise that can plaster it’s characters and scene locations on a game board. And just in time for the release of the movie, along comes G.I. Joe Monopoly … based on the TV show. Wow, when worlds collide.
Now I’ll be honest. The tiny GI Joe action figures which are go up against COBRA and are based on a Saturday morning TV series from the 80s, aren’t what I call GI Joe. My GI Joe has a fuzzy beard, kung fu grip, and is about six inches tall. Still, for fans who grew up with that 80s animated series, may be interested in buying and selling the various characters, as well as hi-tech weaponry to boot.

There are so many versions of Monopoly, I still prefer the classic version – for the nostalgia value!
