It’s like a scene from Toy Story coming to life. Literally. With the advent of processor chips in them, toys have become almost more computer than plaything. And with computers, Moore’s law comes into play – which means they get exponentially more powerful every 18 months. So it stands to reason that sooner or later, a Buzz Lightyear doll would actually come to life. sort of.

Coming with the lines from the original Toy Story, voiced by Tim Allen, Buzz reacts to 12 different voice commands and moves arms, legs and torso. In addition, there’s a puppeteer mode which allows kids to make their own sequences and reactions.

Cost of Buzz will be about $150 and is due to ship in the Fall. Just in time for Christmas.
