E3 was all abuzz today as Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr got together on stage to help launch THE BEATLES: ROCK BAND. And the launch couldn’t have been sweeter. The Beatles: Rock Band, which will launch under Xbox 360 platform, comes with specially designed instruments which mimmick those trademarked by the Fab Four. These include Ringo’s Ludwig drum controller complete with The Beatles skin; A Rickenbacker 325 and Gretsch Duo Jet-inspired guitar controllers – looking like the guitars played by John and George, and Paul’s Höfner 500/1-inspired bass controller. But that doesn’t mean that previous Rock Band fans are out in the cold, as all currently available Rock Band controllers will work with The Beatles: Rock Band. But come on, you tellin’ me you wouldn’t want to get that Hofner base?

And the forty-five songs that come included in the game set are from the years 1962-1969, and include: “Back in the U.S.S.R.” “Day Tripper” “Get Back” “Here Comes the Sun” “I Am the Walrus” “I Feel Fine” “I Saw Her Standing There” “I Want to Hold Your Hand” “Octopus’s Garden” “Taxman” and Paperback Writer, which is being used in all demonstrations at E3.
And the remaining members of the Fab Four are nothing short of glowing up about the game. Ringo said today “The Game is good, the graphics are really good, and we were great!” To which Paul added, “We love the game,” he said, “it’s fantastic… whoever thought we’d end up as androids?”
I can see Beatles Rock Band Tribute groups popping up all over YouTube come September 9.
