Speaking of Legos, the company has responded to a US Consumer Product Safety Commission report and have recalled approximately 1,600 Power Functions Infra Red Remote Control units (item K8882).

The Remote, which works with the Emerald Night Train kit (K10194) apparently can pose a burn hazard. The Remotes were sold online and through Lego’s catalogs from April-May 2009 and were made in China (no big surprise there).

If you have one of these IR remotes, stop using it and contact Lego to see if your unit is part of the recall. If it is, Lego will provide you with a replacement for no charge. The company can be reached at (800) 718-1858 or www.lego.com.
