Here’s a host of toy recalls parents should be aware of:

Little Tikes recalls 1.6 Million Little Tikes Workshop toys and trucks which pose a choking hazard from overized nails and screws. One child was hospitized after injecting the toy nail and having it wedged in his thoat.

This represents a significant concern that prompted Little Tikes to issue the recall. The toy comes in a variety of configurations including the Electronic Project Workshop (SOLD FROM MARCH 1994 THROUGH DEC 2003), Little HandiWorker Workhorse (SOLD FROM MARCH 1999 THROUGH JUNE 2009), Home Improvements 2-Sided Workshop (SOLD FROM FEBRUARY 2001 THROUGH JANUARY 2009), Swirlin’ Sawdust Workshop (SOLD FROM APRIL 2004 THROUGH NOVEMBER 2008) and a black pickup truck and tool kit (SOLD FROM MARCH 2000 THROUGH APRIL 2009). The toys were sold online and in Toys R Us stores. Parents should remove the toy nails right away and contact Little Tikes at (800) 791-2737 or www.littletikes.com for a replacement.
Vinyl paw stickers can come off and swallowed by small tikes.
Leap Frog Enterprises is recalling approximately 3700 “My Pal Scout” electronic plush toy dogs because the paw decals can be removed by a child posing a choking hazard. The toys were sold at Toys R Us store nationwide from May 2009-June 2009 for about $20. Parents should take the toy away immediately and contact Leap Frog for a replacement My Pal Scout which has embroidered paws instead.
