There’s a noticeable gap between toddlers who play on Power Wheels electric cars for kids and the real McCoy. Kids in the bike crowd still want to go off road and although they can do it two wheelin’ BMX style, some still want to go on all fours. Enter the Polaris Ranger RZR. And it’s a serious off road kid contender.

The Ranger RZR uses dual 24 volt electric motors to generate a top speed of 7 miles an hour. Granted, that’s not going to generate the 1.21 gigawatts of a flux capacitor, but it’s a good safe speed for going over rough terrain and still give kids a thrill.

The Ranger RZR also comes with 15 inch molded wheels and a rear suspension, and automatic brakes which engage when the kid takes his foot off the accelerator. And just in case they go down something too steep, the Ranger RZR comes with a metal roll cage and shoulder harnesses to keep little occupants safe.

And there’s also a rock `n roll element to the Polaris Ranger RZR as it includes an FM Radio with aux in for any MP3 player the kid wants to use for tunes to four wheel by.

Not bad for $1,000 at Hammacher – but still rather pricey for this economy.
