Disney Digital Books brings classic Disney Tales to you anywhere online.
Seeing that the future of publishing is in the cloud, Disney has placed 500 of it’s classic and most popular books based on hit movies and put them online for kids to enjoy anywhere. But there’s a price.
The online site, named Disney Digital Books, will be subscription based and run about $9 a month for up to three kids having access to all the books with varying levels from Winnie the Pooh to Hannah Montana. The Books are completely interactive with audio pronouncement of hard to say words, animated pages, a trivia challenge game, and even a Look and Listen mode where narration comes complete with character voices and sound effects.
Kids can even use the Story Builder utility to create their own Disney Stories. Now that’s cool.
The trial membership comes with 7 books, 1 “Look and Listen” book and 1 Story-builder activity. There’s even a demo video for you to watch to see if it’s right for your child (as if anything with “Disney” on it wouldn’t be, right?). Or, swing over to YouTube, where “Crunchgear” has a cool real time video of the service in action:
But what Disney really needs is an eBook reader that downloads the books for kids to read in bed. Now that would be cool.
