The Game Gun is available for pre-order

A few weeks back, we reported on a good home brew gadget called the “Game Gun,” which promised to make first person shooter games far more a combat simulator and less a gun remote for simple target shooting. With the Game Gun, players can walk around and see the image before them (as long as they stay in wireless range). The images are seen on the attached LCD screen as well as on the monitor which is attached to the game. But there’s new word that the Game Gun is now being marketed with pre-orders being taken for both PS3, Wii, XBox, and PC (with Mac coming soon) first person shooter games.

And the Game Gun looks like a blast, too. If you catch the video below, it’s easy to see how players can get really immersed in the action and become quite affected when the bad guys get the better of their character.

And what’s really cool is that the designer made the whole set wireless and motion controlled and also built it around what looks like an airsoft style firearm. The controller also acts as a mouse interface in order to work it’s way around the gaming menus.

The controller has Wii style functionality on the main barrel, with additional buttons on the stock and trigger sections, as well as what looks like a widescreen 6 inch LCD screen with speakers.

Though it isn’t up yet – meaning we have no price at press time – The Game Gun will be available for preorder at BlackHall.Net with delivery promised by the holiday.
