Young Architect’s Skyscaper Construction Kit
I don’t know about anyone else, but my son is a builder. He has an innate obsession to design and construct things. It started in PreSchool with Lincoln Logs, then came TinkerToys, and now Legos. As he gets older, his love of building never abates, it only evolves. So it’s only a matter of time before I’ll probably have to look at Young Architect’s Skyscraper Construction Kit to continue to feed his need for reaching new heights.
The Young Architect’s Skyscraper Construction Kit comes with blueprints that kids can use to put together the 3,200 pieces, or, they can built their own unique engineering designs. This gives kids an education in engineering, problem solving, design … it’s a great toy for the builders in your life who have an interest in architecture or just an obsessive need to put things together.
Structures built can rise over 8 feet tall, too. And the designs also teach load-bearing techniques and how to contruct arches and curved walls. And there’s an interactive aspect as well as kids can place their designs on an interactive map at the manufacturer’s website and even select the longitude and latitude of where they propose to build it. And because the pieces are interlocking, kids can take it apart and build another design. Before long, they’ll have a virtual city!
Ages 10 and up. $300 from Hammacher.
