For the die hard Clue Fan comes this premiere edition built in diorama.

For the die hard Clue Fan comes this premiere edition built in diorama.

One of my favorite places to shop is Restoration Hardware. They usually some some incredible retro gadgets and items you last saw in an old Sears Catalog only very brand new. But they also have some really cool items which have been taken to the “inth” degree in coolness. And the Clue Premiere Collector’s Edition board game is one of those cool items.

Now, granted, $159 for a $12 board game is asking a lot. BUt take a look at it. It’s not just a board game, it’s a diorama. The nine rooms where a potential murder has taken place are laid out, in minute (literally) detail in sunken, three dimensional rooms and are complete with furnishings, artworks, props, the works. And die hard Clue fans, the game can really give an interestingly realistic perspective of the crime scene.

In addition, the board game box is made out of rich wood paneling, and the rooms are protected by non removable plexiglass. About the only odd thing about it is that all the game pieces are painted gold, rather than coded to match the colorful array of murder suspects we all know and love. But if you look real closely, the color is represented by a tiny color ring rounding the base of the pieces.

In the end, I think just about any Clue fan would kill for this Premiere edition board game. But only if your name is Mustard, or Scarlet or Peacock. In the Conservatory. With the Rope.

See what I mean?
