The Blue Man Group Percussion Tubes gives blue cool to making music.
If you’ve ever seen the Blue Man Group, you know how much fun and fame can be gained by playing PVC pipe like it’s a Stradivarius. But not even Stradivarius could be as cool as blue skinned musicians who bang away on plastic pipe to a catchy tune. And the Blue Man Group Percussion Tubes will teach kids about music and how to be blue without holding your breath.
The BMG Percussion Tubes work a tad differently than their famous creators. Instead of banging on the tubes (which would probably break them in a new york minute), kids merely wave their hand of the foam tipped drum sticks over each tube and a motion sensor triggers the appropriate musical tone. But that’s not all, in today’s mp3 age, kids can plug in their iPods and jam along with the music, or play the included Blue Man Group music CD. And there’s even the ability to record thanks to the audio out jack or even connect to a bigger stereo system so kids can give mom and dad a Blue Man style concert.
Available at Amazon for a pricey $180. But then again, for a musical interface, that’s not all that bad. Also available is the Blue Man Group Keyboard, which is a lot more affordable to start out at $35.
Blue makeup and bald cap not included.
