Halo: Reach is the latest chapter in the iconic Halo first person shooter series and promises to be the best selling yet.

While Halo raised the bar for realistic graphics and intense first person shooter game play, it’s no secret that Call of Duty took the top prize from gamers this past year with World at War 2, blowing Halo OSDT pretty much out of the water when it came to sales. But Microsoft/Bungi looks to recapture their FPS thrown with the upcoming release of Halo: Reach.

Though fans will have to have a paid version of ODST in order to access the Beta release, Microsoft is confident that gamers will make Halo Reach the best selling first person shooter game in 2010.

And it’ll have plenty of competition as sale for Call of Duty 4 are still brisk, and other games such as Final Fantasy XIII, Dead Rising 2, and Fable III will also be vying for their cut of the marketplace.

Nevertheless, the winners will be gamers who are constantly looking for fresh gaming challenges to push the limits of their consoles.

The Beta version of Halo: Reach will be available starting May 3rd.
