The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of various toys to begin the year 2010. These toys include the Knight Hawk Helicopter, sold by Radio Shack and made by Danbar, and the Nature Wonder Pinto Horse toy figurine.

The Knight Hawk helicopter, has a battery which can overheat as the toy charges, causing the potential to catch fire or even explode. Those who have purchased the helicopter are encouraged to stop using or charging the device and return it to Radio Shack for a full refund.

The recall of the Nature Wonder Pinto covers 15,000 units of the toy, manufactured by Blip Toys. The figurines, which are made in China, seems to have been found to have the same excessive levels of lead in the paint as has been the culprit that prompted many other toy recalls last year. And although the toys are sold by Walmart, parents are encouraged to take the toy away from children immediately and contact Blip Toys for information on a replacement toy.
