My dad was a watchmaker and growing up, I’d often go to his shop and to pass the time, I’d take apart clocks to learn how they “tick.” Course, with millions of tiny parts, I could never remember how to put them back together, which annoyed dad to no end. If the First Time Gear Clock was only available way back when ….

What’s cool about the First Time Gear Clock is that it’s got a clear clock casing that shows how everything is laid out. In addition, the gears are all color coded and match colors in the instructions, so kids can easily take apart and put the clock back together just by matching color to color.

And even better, it’s an actual working clock, so when it’s put together right, it starts ticking. A real cool toy for learning how to take things apart and see how they work!

Cost is about $15 from Think Geek.

Ages 5-15
