If video killed killed the radio star, then the XBox and Playstation certainly killed the video arcade. But there may be a device which could save video arcades everywhere called the VirtuSphere.

Especially beneficial or first person shooters and other games which require walking through the scenario, VirtuSphere is an apparatus which brings gamers to the next step in reality by allowing them to walk around and not bump into anything while they play their games. They simply put on a virtual headset visor which gives them an immersive screen, and climb into the sphere. Then, as they walk or run through the game, the sphere rotates in place, thereby adding movement virtual reality. Those not playing can watch the action on a remote monitor from the shooter’s perspective.

Thing is, because of it’s extreme size, and no doubt cost, VirtuSphere won’t really be practical for the home gamer. But for Video Arcades, which can position this as a multi player party experience, it’s a godsend.
