Are Iron Man Kids Club Toys Sexist?

Are these Iron Man toys from Burger King sexist?

And while we’re feeling the love over kids meal toys today, there’s this story in Entertainment Weekly which puts for the notion that Burger King’s new Iron Man 2 Kids Meal toys are sexist!

The article’s writer says that Burger King lists the toys as follows: “and an exclusive collection of BK Kids Meal toys that will include “four lifestyle accessories for girls and four action-packed toys for boys,” and that Burger king should have left out of their press release the point of which toys are for which gender.

Okay, so that’s a silly wording for a press release that’s just begging for trouble. But seriously, since when will the press releases be used to decide where to go for lunch? And when will kids see the toys in the story and know which gender is to have which toy?

When I reported on the BG IM2 toys yesterday, I saw the Arc Reactor necklaces as kinda cool, a way for any kids to pretend they’re wearing the Arc Reactor like Tony Stark has to.

Frankly, I think the only people who have issues with alleged sexist kids meal toys are those who have a giant chip on their shoulder to begin with.
