Halo Reach MPU Beta coming in May

With the advent of multiplayer online games such as World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings and Star Trek Online, it only made sense that Halo would come to the MMO universe. And Halo Reach looks intense, with new games, new weapons, and new vehicles. But fans who want to get a sneak peak of the Beta version next month need to act quickly …

Some of the really cool features of Halo Reach, other than a worldwide playing with team mates from all over the world, is the ability to record and upload your videos to the Internet. There are also new game modes including head hunter and invasion modes to go along with the classic slayer mode from Halo 3.

In addition, the armor used by players in Halo Reach is even more advanced although Reach is a “prequel” in the Halo timeline. The idea being that the Reach island is a research and development army which tries new armor configurations to improve design. Some designs work, others fail with tragic consequences.
But the question is, will the firefight mode from ODST make it? Or bubbleshield? Only time will tell, but the whole idea behind a public Beta is to create opportunities for the gamers to try out and break, so that game programmers can refine the code, according to multi player lead Chris Carney.

So how does one get into the public beta of Reach? Well, if you’re a fan, you probably already know. Invitations were included with Each copy of Halo 3: ODST. If you want in, hold onto your disc and stay tuned to Bungie.net and Xbox.com for more details.The limited public beta will begin May 3rd, with the launch of Halo Reach expected in the Fall.
