R/C, the final frontier …

Seriously, you gotta love R/C fans, and you gotta love Star Trek fans. But when they collide, you end up with some really fun toys.

You may remember when we previewed the NCC 1701 Enterprise R/C that was being sold with Paramount’s blessings and previewed at ComiCon in 2008. Well, Witness SGTalon’s Enterprise D Mark II R/C flyer that has taken things to the Next Generation. Built with 3D designs from Autodesk Inventor, the designed are available for download here or you can illegally (since I’m sure this breaks copyright) pony up $35 and get a complete kit to build. It just depends on what flavor you like.

And judging by this video, it sure can perform!

Here’s hoping that Paramount will gently remind this user that selling kits without permission is copyright infringement, but still allow him to give the designs away!
