Hot Wheels is a secret subsidiary of Wayne Industries?

The other day, we were cruising down City Walk at Universal Studios. We went into my son’s favorite comic book store called “Things from Another Planet,” when I spied these super cool Hot Wheels collectibles based on Batman!

The collectibles, a four piece collection which will set you back a hefty $9.99 a piece (ten bucks in disguise) showcase a few of the iconic vehicles from the classic Batman television series and the Tim Burton blockbuster.

The classic pair, include my personal favorite BatMobile, a black and red -top number with atomic reactor, jet turbine, police strobe (ironic) and that cool Bat logo on the doors. The other is the BatCopter, which first saw action I. The original Batman Movie starring Adam West as Batman, Burt Ward as Robin, Lee Meriweather as Catwoman (who could pass as Anne Hathaway’s Feline Mom), Burgess Meredith as the Penguin and Caesar Romero as the Joker. It was campy, but it was also the 60s.

The second pair are definitely from the Tim Burton era, I’m thinking the second Batman film with the BatMobile (with torpedo mode) and a shot up duck boat that you can just picture the Penguin (played by Danny DeVito) riding.

At $10 they’re a bit pricey, but I really hope they add more. I’d love to see Hot Wheels take on the Tumbler and the BatPod!
