LeapFrog to Upgrade the LeapPad

LeapFrog has announced that a newer, faster, LeapPad will be coming out just in time for school. The LeapPad 2 will sport a faster processor, 4GB of Storage Memory, a higher resolution screen and longer battery life, making the LeapPad a serious tablet and not just a toy.

Other new features include:

-front-and-back cameras and video recorders
-Backwards compatible with first generation LeapPad and Leapster games and software
-Music player
-New Cartoon and Art studio creativity apps
-Access to the LeapFrog App Center with over 325 apps, cartridges, e-books available for download off the internet (additional fees required)
-Cartoon director app let’s children create and star in their own cartoons

Additionally, all apps come with sharing, so kids can share with 3 different LeapFrog devices simultaneously

The new LeapPad 2 will be available for pre-order starting July 18 and will cost about $100.
