LEGO Collectible Minifigs Series 8 Revealed
I wish I could’ve found something non LEGO to get excited about at ComiCon. Maybe I’m just looking on the wrong part of the show room floor. Or maybe it’s because LEGO’s booth is so huge, it’s like a black hole pulling in people from all around. But since I haven’t really found much else to be excited about this year, I may as well go with these LEGO Collectible Minifigs Series 8 for today. But frankly, they’re ho-hum. Kinda been there, done that, have the T-Shirt.
OK, let’s break it down and see what we have in the collection: Series 8 consists of Ancient Thespis with a skull, Boy in Bavarian costume with a pretzel, Conquistador with a rapier, Cowgirl with a brown lasso, Diver with a water gun (personal favorite), DJ with a disc and a disc case, Enemy Robot with a laser gun, Evil Female Alien with a laser gun, Fairy with wings and a wand, Football Player with gold trophy, Pirate Captain with gold cutlass and hook (argh), Red Cheerleader with red pom poms, Santa Claus with sack (Santa, again?), Skier, Trader with newspaper and suitcase, and a Vampire.
OK there are some fun ones here, like the hard hat diver with a water gun, but do we really need ANOTHER Santa Claus? And what about another Skier? I’m sure that’s going to put me on the naughty list for this year, but in a collectible series, having something appear over and over (especially when they’re randomly packaged), is just plain annoying.
