My Mini Golf

Families love miniature golf. Bouncing scratched up colorful rubber balls off cement walls, up ramps, down pipeholes and through scary castles for a hole in 20. What’s not to like? It makes for a great night out. Wouldn’t it be great if families could take a miniature golf course with them wherever they go? Now they can.

Smartyberry

The fact that kids are tech obsessed isn’t lost on a company like Bndai. The creators of Power Rangers have created a new IM Mobile texting device for girls which lets them keep in touch with their friends without killing their parents cellphone bills. Dubbed the SmartBerry, it looks kinda like a Sidekick with retracting LCD touch screen that reveals a keypad for text messaging and IM. IT also hass features like game play and a strange business card mode.

Kids can save up to 30 addresses and picture icons of their favorite friends in the address book, can send email via WiFi, send text messages and IM, and play a host of cute little “Pikachu” like game that Japanese girls just love. But what’s really missing is an mp3 player! Come on, Bandai! EVERYTHING has an mp3 player these days!

Cost is about $100.

Water powered Jet Car is really cool

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

water jet car

Kudos to Edwin over at out sister blog, Coolest-Gadgets, for finding this really cool water powered jet car toy. It’s on board tank holds about 40 ounces of water and once it is pumped with enough air to launch it (about 50 pumps or 60 psi), the car can reach a maximum to scale speed of 272 miles an hour as it sprays a stream of water in its wake! Pushing down on the foot release pedal launches the car like a bullet from a gun.

Designed around the famed rocket cars which race the Bonneville Salt Flats for land speed records, the Water jet Propelled Road Rocket has a missile-shaped, vacuum formed PVC fuselage with dual airfoils that enable it to travel up to 150′ on a paved, level outdoor surface. It measures about 10 1/2″ H x 6 1/2″ W x 28″ L. and weighs about 7 pounds.

Includes an air pump with an integrated pressure gauge and two sheets of decals for customizing your racer. For ages 7 and up.

Cost – about $43 USD from Hammacher

By looking at what’s coming out of their product line these days, one is getting the feeling that former special forces personnel have taken over Hasrbo’s NERF. With heavy hitting foam based projectiles, NERFs product line is filled with all sorts of cool products that cry havoc and let ship the dogs of war. And the N-Strike Recon CS-6 is no exception.
