Lego SuperHeroes were well represented at the Lego Booth at ComiCon this last weekend. And although the DC Heroes are coming out first, I have to say I’m more excited about the Marvel line. Check out how HUGE the Incredible Hulk is after the break!

And the one you don’t see, which was given away exclusively at ComiCon was the Hal Jordan Green Lantern. It’s very cool too. He was given away along with a new Batman that is only being available here in San Diego.

We had to get in line to pick tickets. Then those tickets went into a raffle and if your number was picked you got a minfig. I didn’t do so well with Green Lantern, but Cody got one. And we both got a Batman. And we may end up giving it away at a later date if I can pry the Dark Knight out of his hands!

The LEGO SUPER HEROES DC Collection is set to launch in January 2012 with construction sets, minifigures and buildable characters, while the LEGO SUPER HEROES Marvel collection is scheduled to launch in May of 2012 and will be timed to coincide with the highly anticipated Summer 2012 blockbuster movie release of Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures feature film Marvel’s The Avengers.

Most of the events will be held at the Marriott Marquis and Marina (Ballroom E). There will be events that include learning to play D&D, plus campaigns that include Lair of the Dread Witch, Living Forgotten Realms, and Nentir Threats. There will also be sessions using D&D’s board games D&D Adventure and Conquest of Nerath, where you can play without a dungeon master. There will also be a Board Game Tournament.

As for learning how to run a good campaign, there will be a panel on How to Be a Dungeon Master on Friday from 6:30-7:30 in Room 32AB at the Convention Center, and a DM Challenge at the Marriott at 7:00pm which DMs can bring their best and most dangerous 5th-level adventure spotlighting some of the nasty new creatures in Monster Vault: Threats to the Nentir Vale for players to engage and rate to determine the best adventure of the evening! 5th-level characters are provided.

So if role playing games are your thing and you’re at ComiCon, look for the heavy D&D Presence and get your game on!

Lego and DC must be very happy with how well Batman has done as they’re launching a Lego Super Heroes line of toys. And not only that, but it looks to include BOTH DC and Marvel Comics universes!

And as we mentioned above, the Lego Super Hero line will include both Marvel and DC universes with the following figures:

We already figured a heavy Batman presence, since Lego Batman launched back in 2006. So, included in the DC Line will be Batman characters Batman™, Robin™, Catwoman™, The Joker, The Riddler™, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn™, Bane, and Bruce Wayne. Other DC characters scheduled include Superman™, Lex Luthor™, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman™.

Marvel Comics characters will include Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Loki and Black Widow, X-Men Wolverine and Magneto, SHIELD director Nick Fury, Deadpool, Spider-Man, and Doctor Octopus.

The first set of the Lego Super Hero line will be previewed at the San Diego ComiCon this weekend, where over 3,000 Batman and Green Lantern minifigs will be given away. The give away is a part of a larger promotional that will run from August to December at LegoSuperHeroes.com. Included in the promotion will be an invitation of fans to contribute Lego super hero videos, photos and illutrations. Grand prices will include trips to Legoland and Warner Bros. Studios, and a complete set of the 2012 Lego Super Heroes DC Universe Collection. Additional prizes will include Lego DC Batcave sets, Lego Batman video games and T-shirts.

Awards will be given out in December, just before the January launch of the Lego Super Hero line with the DC Universe.

If this is your first or fifth ComiCon, you should prepare yourself for the sea of humanity that is going to be pushing you in all directions on the merchant floor. The long lines for panels and freebies, and the costumes. It may seem like something you have to endure and far from a good time, but with a few tips, it can be a great time filled with awesome memories ….

First off, the most important tip is to GET THERE EARLY. If you have a specific panel you want to see (Cody wants to see Doctor Who’s panel) or there’s a specific giveaway or exclusive you want, you have to make it your goal to be one of the first. Especially when it comes to giveaways or exclusives. They will have limited quantities and will ration them out from day to day. once out for the day, they’re out. So prioritize, get there early, and enjoy.

Next, if you’re only there for one day, make yourself a list. Pick a schedule. Don’t just meander. Have a purpose to where you want to go, what you want to see. And think marathon, not sprint. ComiCon is overwhelming and if you don’t pace yourself, you’ll be wiped out by lunchtime.

Dress up! The most fun is watching those who dress as stormtroopers, super heroes, cosplay and the like. And if you see one you like, ask them if they’ll take a picture with you. They love that.

Get a bag. The big thing now are these over sized bags which are for swag, purchases and the like. They come in quite handy and double as a nice souvenir. And they’re ALL OVER the Con, even outside in the Gas Lamp district.

Park off site. There are numerous public parking lots all over San Diego and free shuttles that will take you directly to the Con. It beats the $20-40 you’ll pay to park at the Convention Center. The Red Trolly rules. So consider parking near Old Town and then take the Red Trolly from there.

Lastly, if you buy a bunch of stuff, there will be shipping services onhand to get it home so you don’t have to deal with it. But they aren’t cheap. Convenience never is. But there’s also a check in area where you can check in your bag so you don’t have to lug it around all day. It may cost a few bucks, but more than worth it.

SanDiego.com has some other useful tips here.

See you at the CON!

The life size Han-cicle is made by SideShow Collectibles and will probably be on display at ComiCon exclusively this week with pre-orders being taken after the Con. Sadly, there’s no real details, but you have to bet it’s going to be made of foam and fiberglass and won’t be cheap. We’re hoping it also has all the electronics that are embedded in the side making lights blink just for that added touch.

If you’ve got money to burn after investing and getting out of the real estate market before the bubble burst, SideShow suggests users sign up for their Newsletter. As incentive, they are offering a $10 coupon for your first purchase, with priority pre-order benefits and monthly collectible giveaways to newsletter members. Additionally, members receive exclusive discounts from 10-50%, low quantity alerts, and second chances on popular collectibles that have been sold out.

Just head over to his link to sign up. It’s free. Even if you can’t swing Han in Carbonite, the newsletter is a good idea just because it’ll keep you up to date on the other cool toys they’re selling.

Seems that wasn’t the case after all as Marvelous News has a sneak peak of this cool toy … and confirmation that it will be offered in San Diego.

The confirmation actually came from G4TV, formerly of TechTV fame, which is now a game/pop culture channel on cable. Their flagship live skein “Attack of the Show” ran a promo today promoting the toy to be featured this coming Monday. Other than that, we have no real details as far as pricing or availability.

But if you’re Thor fan and going to ComiCon, you’re going to want to head over to the Marvel booth EARLY to get your hands on it.

If youre one of the frustrated many who were unable to get a badge to this years ComiCon geek fest, theres no time like the present to secure your badge for NEXT year! Thats right, even though ComiCon 2011 wont begin until this coming Wednesday, online pre-registration is now open for 2012.

!–more–

The advantage to online pre-registration, is that you wont have to wait in line to get your tickets at the Con (which most cant since its already sold out). And usually, next year sells out before the Con is over. Pre-register onsite for all four days, and you won’t have to worry about getting your badges before they sell out.

Heres the break down of pricing:

A four-day adult badge with Preview Night is $175; without Preview Night the price is $150. Four-day Junior (ages 12–17) and Senior (60 and older) badges are $87 with Preview Night and $75 without Preview Night. Active military with ID receive the Junior/Senior price (this reduced price does not extend to dependents). Single-day badges (Thursday–Saturday) are $40 for adults, and $20 for Juniors, Seniors, and Military. Sunday-only badges are $23 for adults, and $11 for Juniors, Seniors, and Military.

For more information on securing your ComiCon 2012 badges, check out a href=http://www.comic-con.org/cci/cci_reg_2012.php target=_blankthis link/a.
