Toys R Us is having another killer LEGO sale to clear out toy stocks and get ready for the Fall season. This sale, which runs from July 15-22, will be for ALL construction sets and will offer up to 20% off sets.

Sales discounts are based on how much you buy. So the more you buy, the bigger the savings. Here’s a breakdown of the deals you can get:

20% off $75 purchase or more
15% off $50-$74.99 purchase
10% off $49.99 purchase or less

There is also an instore coupon where you can save up to 20% off. All LEGO games are also on sale. You will also get a free LEGO Ninjago sword with the purchase of any Construction set. Sadly, the sale doesn’t apply to collectible minifigs.

The subsidized model is very similar to what cellphone carriers do to lure new and existing customers to stay with their wireless service and get the latest hot handset. Only the difference here is that while a new iPhone 4S would set you back about $2000 or more over the course of the contract (you an buy an unlocked iPhone for about $700), a 4GB XBox with Kinect and a two year membership in XBox Live will only set you back about $40 more than if you bought the Kinect Bundle separately and then added the XBox Live membership. That ain’t bad. And even better, if you bought them all piecemeal, you’d end up spending $10 more.

Clearly, Microsoft is going after improving their market share. And this may just suck me in. We have a PS3, which we bought because it gave us a Blu-ray player and free online gaming. I wanted an XBox for Halo, but didn’t really want to pay for XBox Live when Sony’s online offerings were free. Then SONY got hacked and handled it really badly. Couple that with that now we’re looking to cut the cord and we can do a lot more with XBox Media Center and stream TV online.

The deal is reported to be only available at the Microsoft Store with no word on if it’ll be available online or through retailers. So I’ll be paying close attention to this to see how well it does. And if it’s successful, who knows, maybe we’ll see subsidized Wii’s or PS4s (if that ever comes out).

Participants will receive a Certificate of Achievement and I’m sure plenty of photo opportunities with their new creation (but what, no brick sets for the effort?!).

I hope you didn’t buy a PS3 Slim from GameStop anytime this week, because the news is out that the game retailer dropped the price on the Sony game console overnight to $200.

The PS3 system continues to offer the best in gaming and entertainment options and it now plays stereoscopic 3D games and movies right out of the box. Enjoy unmatched graphics with games such as Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, and SOCOM 4 come to life in true high-definition. The entertainment options continue in the feature rich PlayStation Network, where you have free access to demos, downloadable games, and online gaming. There’s no word as to why GameStop took the move to reduce the price of the 160GB console by $50, or how long the pricing will last. But considering you get a Blu-ray player tossed in, that’s an amazing deal. And not only that, but the PS3 also enables users to enjoy 3D games and movies, HD streaming from Netflix, Hulu Plus, CinemaNow, MLB.TV, NHL GameCenter, and more, and tosses in the 160GB HDD for storing games, music, videos, and photos.

Course, this may also portend that the PS4 is just over the horizon and the only game retailer is trying to clear stock to make room. But so what? Who knows when the PS4 is coming out. So if you’ve been waiting to get a new PS3, strike now while the iron is hot.

As stores look to clear out their remaining stock of 2011 sets, and also those under performing sets like Prince of Persia, there’s going to be some serious clearance prices on LEGO toys come the 26th of December. I was at Toys R Us yesterday and they’ve got ALL LEGO sets for buy one, get one at 50% off. You can bet that’s going to get even better after Christmas.

But it’s not going to be easy as stores don’t have the same toys and some will put some sets on clearance while others won’t. But according to TheBrickBlogger, the best place to get a Brick deal is actually the LEGO Store. They will have discounts of up to 50% or more and they will also put limits on how many people can buy in one transaction, so there’s a good chance you won’t be going home empty handed. LEGO Shop@Home will also be having deep discounts on surplus bricks. So if you miss out at the mall, you can just log on and whip out the plastic. And don’t forget Amazon, which will also offer free supersaver shipping on all orders over $25.

But just remember that the early bird gets the worm, so if you’re planning on sleeping in the 26th, you may find nothin’ left by the time you get going.

The Star Wars Death Star Trench Run set is on sale for $89.99, plus you get a free $10 “Star Wars Bucks” gift card good for purchases in 2012. But Star Wars deals aren’t the only sales … you can pick up a nifty Crayola Digital Camcorder for about $40 for that budding Steven Spielberg in the family, Marvel Super Hero Squad action figure sets for about $8, buy one get one at 50% all LEGO sets, $30 Nintendo 3DS, 50% electric guitars, bikes for $50, free games with the purchase of an XBox Kinect controller … there’s even a wired PS3 controller for FREE with the purchase of a PS3 game system (and they’ll toss in a $25 TRU gift card)!

The two day sale ends tomorrow night, with TRU staying open round the clock until then. But I wouldn’t wait until the last, last minute because that store will look like a picked over warzone by then!

For instance, last night, I saw NERF on sale for about 50% off, and that’s before even applying the 20% off discount coupon I downloaded at the website. In the end, I found the new Vortex Vigilon blasters for less than $20! The Nerf N-Strike Deploy CS-6 Blaster originally $39.99, on sale $21.99 before the 20% coupon. So you can pick one up for around $15! That’s a killer deal.

This minifigure has an entirely black leg piece, and the torso piece is also primarily black. Grey printing is used on the front and back of the torso, which has the same design scheme as the printing on a normal The Clone Wars Clone Trooper’s torso piece. The Shadow ARF Trooper’s head is the same as a normal Clone Trooper, and the helmet is of the same mould as a normal ARF Trooper’s. However, the helmet is black, with silver printing for the visor, and with sand blue and grey printing around the bottom of the helmet and the mouth area. This Shadow ARF Trooper Minifig is going for $25 on eBay ...

The Shadow ARF Trooper Minifigs are pretty rare and collectible, going for over $25 a piece on eBay. It was given away as a part of the “May the 4th” promotion held by Shop@home. On thing though, it’s a bit “expanded universe,” as there are no references in the Star Wars universe to a Shadow ARF Trooper, and there are no known ARF Troopers with black armour. Still, to get one after buying what you’re going to buy anyway – and have it be worth $25 right off the bat, is a great deal.
