To celebrate the LEGO Movie which will be coming out in 2014, LEGO is having a really cool vehicle design contest. The contest has two versions, one for kids, and the other for teens and adults. Last month, we reported that LEGO had signed a deal with Warner Brothers to release minifigures and sets wrapped around the epic JRR Tolkein series (and Peter Jackson films) of The Lord of the Rings. The first character we saw appeared to be Frodo, holding the ring of power that he would have to take on a long journey to Mordor. Then came Aragorn’s turn. And now we have a new poster which has LEGOlas (yes, that’s right, everyone is jumping on that pun). But there’s more coming as we take the Fellowship’s journey towards summer …

If any pop culture property deserves it’s own product line from LEGO, it’s STAR TREK. I mean, come on! The Enterprise, the evil, soulless Klingon Bird of Prey, Spock’s time traveling jelly fish space craft. It baffles me how with nearly 50 years of sci-fi goodness, Denmark hasn’t embraced the Trek with minifigs and a set of the Enterprise Bridge. If you agree, you could contact LEGO and demand it, or you could go over to ICHIBAN and just have it custom made.

There’s a mom on Facebook with the handle “Blessed Creations” that has created a reversible Super Hero cape that lets kids be Batman one day, and Superman the next. She’s taken the Superman color scheme and symbol on one side, and the Batman black with yellow oval on the other.

2012 is looking pretty super for Warner Brothers and Mattel as the toy manufacturer has announced at the 2011 Licensing International Expos that will be develop toys for Warner Brothers upcoming duo of Super hero flicks – Batman: The Dark Knight Rises and Superman: The Man of Steel. In addition, with Mattel will also release toys based on this fall’s new Green Lantern Animated Series on the Cartoon Network.
